The Barkly Desert Culture tour
was a 10 day desert music showcase spanning 11 days in June 2017.
We travelled over 2400kms, visited 7 communities and finished off with a big show in Alice Springs, sharing positive messages through music and spreading awareness about the serious issue of trachoma.
The communities we visited were: Ampilatwatja, Elliot, Arlparra, Epenarra and Canteen Creek.
The BDC program ran for 3 years, successfully motivating, inspiring and upskilling countless individuals living in remote communities.
By sharing their stories, these artists have helped shape a better future for everyone around them. They also serve as a great example of what hard work, goals, support and access to resources can achieve for our young indigenous population.
